TuneKite is a static website. There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no form that sends your data to us. The metronome, tuner, piano, chord pages and ear-training drills all run in your own browser.
Microphone (tuner)
The tuner asks for microphone access only when you tap Start. The sound is analysed on your device, frame by frame, to measure its pitch. It is never recorded, stored or transmitted, and no audio leaves your device. The microphone is released when you tap Stop or leave the page. You can withdraw the permission at any time in your browser’s site settings.
MIDI keyboards (piano)
If you connect a MIDI keyboard to the virtual piano, your browser asks for MIDI access when you choose to use it. The notes you play are handled on your device to make sound and are not sent anywhere.
Screen wake lock
While the metronome or the tuner is running, the page asks your browser to keep the screen awake. This is released as soon as you stop. It involves no personal data.
What is stored on your device
Settings you choose, such as the metronome tempo and sound, the left-handed chord view, or your ear-training scores, are kept in your browser’s local storage on that device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
One more entry records your privacy choice (see below), so you are not asked again on every page.
Analytics
We count visits with Google Analytics 4, using Google Consent Mode. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland it stores nothing on your device until you agree. Elsewhere it runs by default and you can switch it off at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer or the button at the end of this page.
Analytics tells us which pages are visited, from which country and on which kind of device, so that we know what to improve. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not combine it with any other data. Google processes this data as our processor; IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics 4.
Advertising
There is no advertising on TuneKite at the moment. If we add it, it will be served by Google AdSense; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland consent will be collected through Google’s certified consent tool, and this page will be updated before any advertising starts.
Hosting and fonts
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes the technical data any web request contains (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Fonts are served from this site, not from a font CDN, so loading a page does not reveal your visit to a font provider.
Children
TuneKite is a general-audience site and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority; in Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO). Because TuneKite holds no personal data about you beyond what is described above, most requests can be met simply by clearing your browser data or changing your privacy settings. For anything else, write to us.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is the operator of tunekite.com, an independent sole trader based in Poland. Privacy requests: contact@tunekite.com.
