How to use the chart
Each row is one root, each column one chord type. The coloured keys are the ones to press, in root position; the root has its own colour. For inversions and fingering, open the chord from the chart.
Press the print button: the chart is laid out to fit an A4 or US Letter sheet, without the menu and the text. In the print dialog choose "Save as PDF" to keep a file on your phone or tablet.
Which chords are on the chart?
Major and minor chords are the bread and butter of every song. The dominant seventh adds tension before a change, minor seventh and major seventh chords add colour, and the sus2 and sus4 chords give an open, unresolved sound. Together these seven types cover the vast majority of chord symbols in songbooks.
For ninths, elevenths, thirteenths, diminished and augmented chords open the root pages: every chord of a root on one page.
